FAQ
Ulster Studios is committed to helping your business be successful.

That starts with our commitment to providing you with a clear understanding of our products and services. Below are answers to common questions and some general information.

How long does it take and how much does it cost for a website?Such a simple question that doesn't have a simple answer. The answer: It just depends. Are you looking for a 1-page or 3-page site that is just informational? Are you looking for an e-commerce site? Are you redesigning an existing site? Do you need all new copy? Do we need to create new content or are you providing? There are a million things that go into our pricing model so until we actually sit down with a client and determine the scope it is really difficult to guess time and pricing. A simple 1-page site or landing page could be done in as little as 24-48 hours for as little as $500 (plus hosting costs). But most sites (excluding e-commerce) run about $2,500 to $5,000 and require 1 to 2 weeks of solid development work. E-commerce sites tend to be larger projects and they have their own unique requirements. What we can tell you is that we work hard to give you the best advice and a fair price.

Do you offer discount packages?Yes! Absolutely. Many of our products and services overlap so the best way to save money is to bundle them. The other way to save is to commit to yearly vs. monthly pricing. Our quotations will reflect any discounted pricing available.

Do you have a an office I can visit? Our business model and pricing relies on our team working remotely. It just wouldn't make sense for our nomadic digital family to have a physical office. Plus, the added expense of office space could put the price of many of our products out of reach of the small businesses and startups we love working with. We strive to keep overhead low so you get the best product for the best price. Our pricing model uses e-mail as the main point-of-contact. If we need to speak to a client in person we prefer to schedule a audio or video call at a time that is convenient for both parties. The main reason we do this is to save time, stay focused, keep communications in writing for clarity, and most of all—efficiency. But yes, there are times when you need to meet in-person, for example site visits, and we are certainly happy to meet in person. Travel expenses are additional.

Can I call you any time? Our business model and pricing relies on our team working remotely. Team members are project based and daily hours vary depending on the projects in queue. Some days are long and others short. We work hard and play hard. Its best to schedule a call in advance. However, we do check email and messages regularly and try to reply to all urgent calls within an hour or two.

Why do you use Wix?Keep in mind we can also hand code your website or use Wordpress. We are full stack developers. But, we prefer Wix because most businesses overestimate their ability to maintain and update their websites. Wix is the superior, affordable user-friendly solution. Coders come and go. Before you know it, that expensive coded or WordPress website gets put on the back-burner. Now you've got an expensive, non-functioning site that not only isn't helping your business grow, it's hurting it. With Wix, the editor is as simple to use and learn as Microsoft Word or PowerPoint so its the easiest solution to maintain. This is important, especially for startups and small businesses when money can be tight and they can't afford to pay someone for updates and maintenance.
